New building ensures location and ability to supply (Fellbach) Andreas Maier GmbH & Co. KG (AMF) invests over eight million euros in an ultramodern new building at the company’s location. A logistics centre as well as production and office space will be built there. Besides owners and managers of the family-owned company, the mayor was also present at the groundbreaking. With the logistics centre, AMF increases its resilience toward disruptions of the supply chain and ensures reliable delivery for its customers.

The return of the Christmas market after a Corona-caused break showed a magnificent comeback for the trainees of Andreas Maier GmbH & Co. KG. An incredible sales revenue of 18,000 euros is a record in the long history of the campaign. This also reflects the joy of the visitors as they returned to the Fellbach Christmas market. As always, the trainees of the family-owned company contributed the sales revenue to a good cause. This time, the proceeds went to the Sternentraum 2000 e.V. association, which fulfils the wishes of disadvantaged and sick children.

Since 2015, kununu.com, Europe’s largest employer evaluation platform, has been awarding these seals of approval to companies that receive exceptional evaluations on their platform. Criteria such as corporate culture, work-life balance and working atmosphere are assessed here. While employee satisfaction was determined primarily by diversity, corporate culture, career & remuneration, when it came to benefits, our employees were particularly enthusiastic about flexible working hours, healthcare provisions, our company pension scheme and the company restaurant. With an average of 4.2 evaluation stars, we scored substantially higher than the average in the mechanical engineering sector (3.5 points). We are very proud of that.

AMF has completed the conducted recertification process successfully for the eigth time. With our recertification, we have proven that the conformity of our quality management system with the standard ISO 9001:2015 continues to be satisfied. We therefore provide our customers with the assurance that, in addition to the renowned AMF product quality, our processes and organisation meet international quality standards and are continuously improved. Our quality management system was certified to ISO 9001 for the first time back in 1997. Regular system audits in the subsequent years were also passed without any discrepancies in each instance. The certification applies for the scope development, production and distribution of locks for doors and gates, modular fixture systems, hydraulic and mechanical clamping elements, screwdriving tools, quick clamps, zero point clamping systems, magnetic clamping systems, vacuum clamping systems and automation technology and is valid up until July 2

Last year was not an easy one for Andreas Maier GmbH & Co. KG (AMF) either. Sales fell by around 20 percent to just under 40 million euros. Nevertheless, there are also positive aspects for the traditional company, whose course was alreadBy establishing itself in new, growing industries, AMF has reduced its dependence on the machine building and automotive industry. Innovative products for automated production and process optimisation ensure a positive development here. And because the core workforce could be kept completely on board, we feel that we are well positioned for the predicted recovery. Growing demand since December and a significantly higher order backlog in January compared to the previous year give cause for optimism. At the market leader for clamping, screwing and locking, this is also expressed in the planned 50 percent higher investments for this year.

A record donation from AMF trainees once again after Christmas market sale. AMF trainees donate an incredible 18,000 euros. This year, the donation goes to Kinderreich Rems-Murr, German Child Protection Association of the Schorndorf / Waiblingen e.V. The initiative supports children who are at risk of poverty by financing memberships in sports clubs or music and tutoring in addition to everyday items such as clothing and toys. On February 12th, the young people presented the symbolic cheque to Ms. Ines Pfeil-Buerkle from Kinderreich.

With 47.3 million euros, the market leader for clamping, screwing and closing recorded a decline of almost 5.5 percent. After six record years in a row, the annual turnover of Andreas Maier GmbH & Co.KG (AMF) in 2019 declined slightly again for the first time. The traditional company was still on course until summer, followed by a real slump and reluctance to buy in September, which affected the entire industry. However, because the innovative products of the future in the growth areas of automation, process optimisation and additive manufacturing still showed a clear increase, the management is optimistic about the future. Further investments in in-house production, digitisation and training of employees should reverse the trend in 2020.
